Prayer for America

Father of truth, Father of life.

We praise and adore you in day or night.

You rule all men. You rule nations too.

You are perfect in all that you do.

You raise nations up. You bring some down.

You are the King with an eternal crown.

So, we come to you with a simple plea.

We pray for America on bended knee.

Too often we have abandoned your perfect word

Too often ignored that you are the Lord.

We repent of our sin, our foolish ways.

Of all the times we abused your grace.

You blessed America with a bright history.

Your kindness extended from sea to sea.

Help us to remember that you made us free.

And all we enjoy is by your gracious mercy

We pray for forgiveness for wandering afar.

Bring us back to worship all that you are.

Especially this day on the Fourth of July

We again turn our eyes to Lord of the skies.

You gave us a land where we have liberty.

Guide us to return to Your majesty.

Remind our leaders they exist in Your hand

And they will account for their service in this land.

We celebrate our nation as a gift from you

We turn our hearts back to all that is true

We glorify You and with boldness claim
